Happiness in the wild: Mapeando la felicidad.

[C&P] Mappiness, part of a research project at the London School of Economics, maps happiness across space. The researchers intend to better understand how people’s feelings are affected by features of their environment — from pollution to noise to green spaces — while they’re doing ordinary things. They hope to publish the research; meanwhile, users who download it can enter data that is charted for them hour by hour over time so that they can visually monitor their own happiness.

Whether as creators or consumers, whether you ascribe to happiness theory or the set point theory of happiness, as another year begins, don’t forget to plan a vacation, take time off — even just a day or an afternoon. You may only remember the peak-end.

But if nothing else, pause and talk about happiness, if only to consider its implications for design, or to dispute them.

¿Por qué a las mujeres les gusta ir de compras?

Shopping
[C&P]

Why Do Women Like Shopping?

Women shop for many reasons. Whether they are finding the perfect gift or buying groceries for the family, women tend to spend a lot of time in the stores. It would be a good bet that those women are shopping for others. If you think about all of the things women do for their friends and family, you may just realize why they are so good at shopping. So don't listen to complaints from men about women shopping; what do men know anyway?!

How many hours do women spend shopping for clothes?
On average, women spend 100.48 hours shopping for clothes. Depending on how her man acts, she may shop even more because of her need for retail therapy.

Do women really have a "shopping cortex"?
Scientists are still mapping out the brains of humans. Females do seem to have increased activity in a certain area of the brain, especially when looking at racks of shoes and dresses. Males seem to experience the same when staring at electronics or golf clubs.

Do women really enjoy looking at themselves in mirrors?
If they work with a lot of men, it might be the only way to look at the smartest person in the room.

Do women shop in packs?
Many times groups of women can be found shopping together in groups. This helps a group of girlfriends build emotional bonds and it never hurts to have more sets of eyes to find the best deals!

How much of women's shopping is for things to wear?
Women spend time shopping for clothes, shoes, accessories and they window shop for all three. So you could say that they spend over 55 percent of their time shopping for things to wear. Don't forget that women don't just shop for themselves. Women shop for kids, men and friends too - especially when they find great discounts!

Were women really gatherers?
Anthropologists have found that in early humans, males were the hunters and females were gatherers. Basically this means that men went out with their friends and goofed around, while women did everything else. Some things never change.

What is retail therapy?
Retail therapy involves trying to make yourself feel better by purchasing things, which can trigger responses in the pleasure centers in the brain. This is not exclusive to women as studies have shown that men have the same reactions when the buy something they love.

What do women shop for the least?

Women seem to shop for toiletries the least. This involves anything that is used for grooming or cleaning oneself. Basically, the mandatory trips to Walmart. Researchers have found that women still shop for these items far more than men.

Táctica y Estrategia

Táctica y Estrategia...

Mi táctica es mirarte
Aprender como sos
Quererte como sos
Mi táctica es hablarte
Y escucharte,
Construir con palabras
Un puente indestructible.

Mi táctica es
Quedarme en tu recuerdo
No sé cómo, ni sé
Con qué pretexto
Pero quedarme en vos,
Mi táctica es ser franco
Y saber que sos franca
Y que no nos vendamos
Simulacros,
Para que entre los dos
No haya telón ni abismos.

Mi estrategia es
En cambio
Más profunda y más simple,
Mi estrategia es
Que un día cualquiera,
No sé cómo ni sé
Con qué pretexto
Por fin me necesites.
